In Phuket, 3 G service (specifically, HSPA service) is available to True. The True value is in the process of extension 3 G service on the island. Despite what you read, or what a sales clerk may have said you, most of the can?t of Phuket obtain 3 G signals.
If you have an iPhone 3 G, iPad, Android phone or USB dongle, there?s a set of specific measures, you have to go through to get the 3 G. No, it isn?t enough to buy a phone with ?3G? printed on it.
3 G, take your computer, phone, or the buffer to the real Office that?s from Robinson?s store in the city centre of Phuket. You can define up to 3 G to the real offices around elsewhere, including Big C, but I?ve heard complaints that the staff at other locations may do not know what they?re speak. The main office in Phuket people know their stuff.
To obtain 3 G, you must obtain a telephone number. To obtain a telephone number, you must have either (1) a Thai ID card, or (2) a valid work permit. If you?re a foreign and don?t have a work permit, take a national Thai with you. They?LL must register for the telephone number, and they?ll be on the hook to pay your Bill.
Tell the people in the Office of the true you want 3 G and return it to your PC, phone, or the buffer. They?LL you fill out a form, to sign a pile of papers, including a copy of your Passport. You learn how to choose a phone number in the list provided.
You?re develop 3 G in a phone or a tablet, True staff will establish it all for you. Note that some devices ? including iPads and iPhone ? require SIM cards special half ?mini?. The people of True can define for you, too.
If you?re putting 3 G on your laptop, True sell you a that?s of dongle USB guaranteed to work with their system of 3 g. Note that not all ? of USB dongles in particular, those that you buy Singapore ? or Europe will work with system True?s HSPA. The dongle you assign back to 2,000 baht.
Fresh true?s of services 3 G 699 baht per month, and the VAT, but there?s one capture. True limited your account up to a maximum of 3 GB of data (top and bottom) per month. If you go more than 3 GB (3 billion characters), True automatically drops you the 3 G network for the rest of the month, and you?ll be stuck running at speeds of mobile EDGE outmoded. 3 GB is a lot for normal web browsing and email, but if you download large files or use of torrents, won?t you get very far.
True doesn?t have a map of its service to Phuket area, but the service extends along the West coast of the island, Kata-Karon until may Khao. Recently ? last week ? True obtained a tower working Bangkok Hospital Phuket, so if you?re in sights of BPH, you should be able to get a signal.
I?ve also heard that a ?3G? HSPA signal is available in Koh Kaew, near the British International School. I?m do not know where the tower for this signal, but it might be one in the BPH, or signal may be leak on the Hill of a tower on the coast.
